Women’s Health and Mental Health Issue

Women have had difficulties over time identifying the differences between their mental health and physical health. Hormone cycles as well as other physical health issues have compounded the difficulties in addressing physical health issues that have increased mental health presentations. Women experience hormonal changes that present as anxiety, depression or other mental health symptomology.

Symptoms:

Persistent sadness or feelings of hopelessness

Dramatic changes in eating or sleeping habits
Appetite and/or weight changes

Extremely high and low moods
Aches, headaches, or digestive problems without a clear cause
Irritability
Social withdrawal
Suicidal thoughts

Women’s’ health is a serious issue and should not be taken lightly.
